Finding a cheap Playstation 3 isn't easy. This article explains

The Sony Playstation 3 has been available since late 2006 in the
U.S. When it was first released, it was fairly commonplace to see
people waiting in line for hours, if not days as the first PS3 consoles

was going to outweigh the supply, so chances were that instead of

meant was that if you were to try hard enough you would still find

also adept at making winning bids and in addition it also meant
you needed to be good at negotiating favourable deals for you.

The bad news is that prices of the PS3 have rocketed in the previous
year or two, so it would indeed be rare to be able to find a cheap
PlayStation 3 – at least not at the retail stores. Right now,
the cheapest way of getting your hands on a Playstation 3 is through
one of the following channels:-
- Online auction sites, probably the largest and most popular
being ebay,
- In the classified sections of various newspapers and magazines,
- High street stores with special sales / trade-ins. Stores
such as Game in the
UK will often offer cash or money off if you trade-in your
old console.
- Look out for online sales from websites, but only buy

One good option for finding a cheap PlayStation 3 is to look for
one on Craigslist where local sellers generally will give you an
option to buy the PlayStation 3 without your having to pay an arm
and a leg for it. No doubt, it will mean that you must also be competitive
and willing to face challenges. Though, at the same time it is also
a lot of fun as well. However, you also will need to be careful
that your quest to buy a cheap PlayStation 3 does not make you fall
into a trap set by unlawful sellers. Also make sure you know exactly
what you are getting. In the high street stores, many consoles are
sold as bundles. This means they do deals that include one or more
Playstation
3 games or a variety of Playstation
3 accessories. Beware when comparing online or privately sold
consoles with high street prices that you factor in the extras that
are sometimes on offer.
Stick to Your Budget
Whatever the price on offer, you must never exceed your own personal
budget. If you feel that the price isn't what you had in mind, or
simply that you cannot afford it, don't get sucked in by any marketing
or advertisement hype telling you it's a bargain, you should let
it pass you by. Remember, the cost of the PS3 will always be cheaper
in the future, so patience could be the best policy.
